The Erewash Valley Referees Society is a thriving, successful and lively society attracting members from a wide area in and around the Erewash Valley and surrounding areas. The society is run by active referees for the benefit of ALL its members. The keyword of our society is enjoyment and meetings are always well attended, relevant and INTERESTING!
Membership ranges from the experienced Level 2 panel referees to the younger Level 8 and includes members currently on the Nationwide and Conference Leagues. Collectively members have a vast experience of officiating at all levels and newer referees will always receive good advice and support if requested.
Meetings are designed to be interesting, relevant to your refereeing career and above all interactive. This year's programme includes a visit from Jeff Pettit, the ex PL assistant who is now, amongst many things director of Charlton's referee academy and a renowned sports psychologist. Otherwise known as the Renegade his presentation promises to be thought provoking and to prompt a lively debate. Other guests will include Alan Wiley and FA regional manager Ray Olivier, both well known to EVRS members as excellent speakers. Additionally there will be presentations from two of Derbyshire's own who are contributory league referees and football league assistants.
New Members will receive a hearty welcome and find an environment where you will be encouraged to play a full part in our discussions, to express your opinion or give us your ideas about how we might improve. We are particularly proud of the support offered to our younger referees. We are also keen to increase the number of female members in the society.
Insurance : Protect yourself - the DCFA provides basic public liability cover when you register but the insurance cover gained by joining the RA through EVRS has been expanded this year. In addition to the personal injury, travel and equipment cover previously offered the scheme now includes victim support and counseling, life and funeral expenses, while the weekly benefit has been increased to £125.00
Referees supplies: everything you need from a pencil and pad to a set of flags and of course the excellent and striking new RA 2007 kit. You can also show your allegiance with the smart new RAE tie. Harry will be delighted to supply whatever you require at a very competitive price
Experience: it offers the knowledge and experience of the County Training Officer, Fitness and Assessor Co-ordinators as well as DCFA Council and local league officers. This gives members the access to best advice on any problems that might arise, and if we don't know the answer, we can put you ‘in touch' with a man who does
Five a side football: we will again be defending our title as County champions under the management of Paul Leversuch and James Adcock. Paul is always seeking new victims and in the past we have been able to field two sides. If you fancy a run out and think that you can compete with our crop of new talent then please let Paul know and he will be delighted to include you in the squad.
